I applied online and heard back within a few days for an initial HR interview to check over the details of my CV (10 mins max). A few days after that I was invited to an informal interview with two senior members of team (45 mins) . This more asking questions about my experience, why I wanted to work for CGG and just getting to know me. The two interviewers were really friendly and made me feel at ease very quickly. After a week or so I was invited to a technical interview (1.5 hrs), where I was asked to firstly prepare a presentation of some of my previous work. I was also given two exercises to complete, 2 hrs before the start of the interview, both involved geological interpretations. During the interview I was also given a few tests just to test my structural geology knowledge and my ability to identify geological structures from satellite images. This interview was with the same two interviewers, who again made me feel very ease and although the technical interview sounds stressful, it was actually rather enjoyable. Finally after a few more days I was invited for an informal chat with the interviewers and head of department to check over some details of my CV. A week later I was offered the position.
