Went through a screening round with HR followed by an interview with the hiring manager and a team member. Interview seemed to be going fine until I asked the hiring manager a situational question, upon which the hiring manager very coldly said that they were not going to answer the question because they were not there to be interviewed by me, and it was I that was being interviewed, and if I wanted I could ask questions about the company and they would respond. It felt like the interview suddenly turned nasty. I thought that there were better ways of sidestepping the question had the hiring manager not wanted to respond to it.
