I found a role with VHL in December, and then I was referred to the position from a current employee, and I had great conversations throughout the interview process. It seemed like I was a good fit for what the manager and team were looking for in terms of experience and culture fit/add. After my on-site interview, I never heard from the hiring manager or team - not even to confirm that they went in another direction or that I was no longer in the running. After multiple attempts of reaching out, I received an automated note from their application system saying they’d changed some components of the role and asked for me to let them know if I was still interested or if I aligned. While my experience post interview was abysmal and embarrassing for the person who had referred me and spoke highly of the team, my experience speaking with the various HR team members was lovely. I wish them the best in their search process, but the deep lack of communication and organization are huge red flags as a candidate.
