I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at WGSN (New York, NY) in Jan 2023
Interview
Interviewed with hiring manager for 45min via Google meet. Details of next steps were issued at the end of the interview. Request for portfolio examples to be sent via email. No response back after all that. Hiring manager did not email, call, or video chat after all the requests asked of candidate. Not even a thank you or generic email that they are choosing someone else…completely ghosted.

Question 1
Your background seems very interesting to me, where and how do you do all your research?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at WGSN (Hong Kong)
Interview
I was headhunted by WGSN's holding company Ascential. Had a preliminary call with someone from Ascential's talent acquisition team to find out more about my interest, ambitions, skills and experience match, salary expectations and notice period.
Waited many weeks to finally pin down an interview time/date due to talent contact being on holiday and the WGSN contact being on work trips and holiday.
Interview ended up being over conference call, audio only. Positive conversation with a WSGN director explaining relevant projects, approaches to trend analysis and strategy, and more about the role.
I got back in touch with WGSN after a few weeks of radio silence. It turned out the talent acquisition contact had bailed out of his role and neglected to pass on the message that my application was unsuccessful. WGSN claimed they made an internal hire instead.
TL;DR: excruciating delays between stages and poor communication. Not impressed.
