Interview
The first step was a phone interview. I rec'd the request 2 days after submitting my app online. Person obviously didn't look at my resume before calling was really apparent early on. So, I made sure early on to politely point out my technical qualifications and previous positions to save time. They hire for personality and culture fit and are looking for positive team players. Boring standard interview questions. They did make sure I knew about WP Engine and their culture.
Second step a few days later I had an in-person interview. Met with an office manager then with two front line managers. Standard questions, again I stated my qualifications early on but they'd actually read my resume which is good. So, they focused on whether I'd be a good fit for their team, what the job entails, etc. more than say explain the use of octals in a chmod command type questions.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at WP Engine (Limerick, Limerick) in Aug 2018
Interview
Brief phone screening, followed by an online technical assessment (this was timed and your screen was monitored incase you looked up the answers), followed by 4 concurrent interviews on the same day (took about 2 hours in total).
Interviewers are all very kind and patient.
Hiring team are inconsistent - want people with tech background, but also say that they will provide training on everything needed for the right person (who doesn’t have a background in tech)? But they also require a technical assessment and technical interview. I found their hiring process to be confusing quite honestly.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at WP Engine (Limerick, Limerick) in Jun 2018
Interview
Really thorough interview process. Great experience and interesting people. Varied questions on customer service and tech questions related to Wordpress. They expect you to be very passionate about same. Also lots of role play type scenarios.
