I applied online. A company recruiter then emailed to set up a basic phone screen. The recruiter forgot about the phone screen and called 20 minutes later than scheduled; however, the phone screen seemed overwhelmingly positive and I was set up with another phone interview with a panel of engineers and engineering managers. This engineering interview was somewhat poorly directed and organized. I was also told that I had a lot of words on my resume and was asked to verbally summarize my resume, which is an incredibly strange request, in my view, when someone is that far along into the interview process. In short, it seemed like the engineers were not interested in my background from the start of the interview, and that I was interrupting a group of close coworkers by being there. No discernible enthusiasm from the panel. The good part is that HR was prompt to explain they had gone with another candidate.
