I applied in-person. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Walgreens (Grandview, MO) in Jan 2014
Interview
Easy interview with standard questions, the process of beginning work takes forever! Don't apply if you need money fast. I didn't start working about a month and a half after I applied. I was interviewed on the spot when I applied and was immediately offered a job as a cashier in the store, but I declined and said I was only interested in working in the pharmacy. I waited a week for a call back to see if they were even hiring and Pharm techs, scheduled an interview a few days later. Then I had to take a drug test, apply for a license, get finger printed before starting the job. All this took about a week. Then I had 40 hours of online training in a freezing cold office. SOOOOO BORING!!!! Then I started training in another walgreens store for 40 hours one week. and then I started in the pharmacy.

Question 1
What makes you a good worker? Why do you want to work in the pharmacy? The job is not easy, are you sure you're up for it? What experience have you had that will help you?
Awful the guy decided he wasn’t going to give me the job even before I sat down claimed the position wasn’t a Pharmacy Technician position even though it clearly listed those duties.
I applied online. I interviewed at Walgreens (Wheeling, IL) in Jun 2026
Interview
I applied online and was contacted to schedule an interview. The interview was straightforward and mostly focused on my availability, customer service experience, teamwork, and why I wanted to work in a pharmacy setting. They asked behavioral questions about handling difficult customers, working with coworkers, and staying organized in a busy environment. The pharmacist interviewed me and was professional, explained the role, expectations, and next steps clearly. The store manager was also present and took notes. I am still waiting to hear back about an offer.

Interview
They called me asking when I was available to interview. I went in for a half hour interview with the pharmacy manager. It felt pretty comfortable and conversational and he told me a lot about the training process since I didn’t have experience.
