Interview
I applied on a Sunday evening and got a very positive email the next day asking to set up an interview with their HR recruiter.
Five minutes into the interview she says "I'm going to be honest I don't think there's enough crossover in your previous experience to be a fit for this role." Why was I scheduled for an interview then? My resume was very clear on my past roles and titles. I would be wary when applying here. It seems like a human didn't screen my resume or work examples prior to scheduling this interview and it was unprofessional to cut it so short. She could have used the time (and respected the time I spent preparing for it) to get to know my background and unique skillset in case other opportunities came up in the company.

Question 1
Can you tell me about the type of work you're looking for and what attracted you to Wantable?
Basically didn't ask me anything about my skills beyond that.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear the interview didn’t meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating it can be to prepare for a conversation that feels prematurely cut short.
We also acknowledge that every conversation is an opportunity—not just to assess fit for a specific role but to understand potential for future opportunities. Sometimes resumes don't detail all the experience an applicant has, or a non-traditional background can still get a foothold in a role. We are committed to improving our screening and interview processes so they are more constructive and valuable, even when alignment with the current role may not be perfect.
We appreciate your interest in Wantable and wish you the best in your job search.
