I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Washington University in St. Louis (New York, NY) in Aug 2015
Interview
Filled out a million job applications to the site. Received email from prospective PI/Labs. One was initially a phone interview (PI in Columbia NY), then in person interview with fellow WashU colleague , followed by another phone interview with post docs, and ended with a final phone interview. Had to email to get final outcome since I hadn't heard from them and had another job offer that I needed to reply to. Then I was informed by email that i did not get the position. Would have been nice if I was informed sooner, rather than 2 weeks later. My second position process was much smoother, but unique. Was first contacted through email to set up a time to come in and perform a lab "test" both in person and through a take home "quiz". The same day I arranged to take the lab portion, had interview with PI and senior PhD student. Overall 4 hour time frame. Completed the take home portion and turned in next day via email. Was emailed to set up phone interview time. At that point was offered the position.
