The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Wayfair (New York, NY)
Interview
The phone interview was easy very basic questions. Phone interview lasts about 15 min.
The actual interview was odd. They kept saying that they wanted specific times when "so and so" happened, but say different words than what I think they meant.
Like they asked what "systems" I used to solve a problem, but they make it sound like they meant computer systems, but I had no idea how to answer that with them understanding my systems. I then find out it was more like they wanted to specify a time when I problem solved outside the box . Saying the words "outside your systems" is not the same thing unless you specify the definition of that.
They kept giving this long winded description of question that made no sense to me, and when I was too late I realised they wanted me to specify a time I solved a problem thinking outside the box.
So because they kept using the word system during this whole interview process I look back now understanding why I was so confused, and didn't feel like I did well.
Like I asked for clarification, and one interviewer gave a completely different answer than what I was expecting, and still didn't know.
Work on the wording in your interviews.
Stop saying a specific indecent. Instead say what's the process you typically take and walk us through it. "Cause that's what your asking for!
Idk in retrospect it sounds like that they are trying to ask basic questions, but in the silliest and most confusing way possible.
I honestly don't think I'll get am offer, but you never know .
Please change the scripting of the questions. lf you ask confusing questions don't be surprised when you get confusing answers.
I went through the entire process and assessment. I did good far as I could see, and I had a good resume, I still did not get the position. It seems like It would be a good opportunity, but you would need to be next to perfect to get chosen for the position.
I applied online. I interviewed at Wayfair in Oct 2020
Interview
Very simple process, not many questions of substance asked. Just prepare for the general type of interview questions. They seem to be going the more traditional route with the interview process.
