The interview process was relatively quick but it turned out to be a complete waste of time. I do not want to waste much time writing about them because they already put all my efforts and time in the drain, but I feel this experience (or ALARM) is worth sharing. First I had a 30 min call with the HR manager to see if I was a good fit, shortly after that (<3 business days) I gave my availability and I had an interview with the Hiring manager who gave me an overview of the role. The role perfectly matched my profile and she was very impressed with all my answers and skills. She asked a mix of technical case based questions and some behavioral questions . After a positive feedback from the Hiring manager the HR scheduled my next interview (~week later), which was with the Director. The interview comprised of two cases about how I would plan to stock warehouses and some metrics I would take into consideration. The other case was related to shipping and logistics overseas and it involved some calculations. The interviewer was very supportive and gave me good directions. Overall this round went well and when I asked about the next steps , he told me I would have to come to Boston for an onsite interview. I was very hopeful and was looking forward to the next steps. A week went by and I did not receive any email or communication.I understand the processes take long so I was patient. Then one day I get a blank email of a general rejection with no position mentioned. I immediately emailed the HR if it was a rejection for this position, but she said no you did well and this rejection could be for other positions you had applied for (which I had). I also asked her what is happening and when can I expect to get an update to which she responded , the HIRING HAS BEEN FROZEN and that I should try to wait for next year. ISo when on one hand hand I was waiting to get a yes/no or a an onsite interview invite; I was bombarded with this statement. I asked her if this is a rejection she can just say a no, but she said no they liked you but this business decision has been made which even she cannot help with. I was in complete shock, that after 4-5 weeks of interviews , this is what I am hearing back. They could have not wasted my time and not gotten my hopes up if they were to make such a business decision. I was extremely disappointed. The company should learn to value the candidate's time and effort and not keep them hanging. Do not start the interview process if you do not see a future for the role.
