Interview
Most have three separate interview steps. The first is a phone interview where they basically talk about what is on your resume and your qualifications. If you get past that its an interview with the HR manager where very general interview questions are asked and more is asked about you and any discrepancies with your info or anything else they want to talk about is asked. If you make it to the third interview its with the department manager where you will be working within the store. If you make it to this point your chances of getting hired are likely and they ask questions that are department specific. Its all a very lengthy and not a very efficient process in my opinion, especially for entry level customer service jobs that require no previous training.
I had a screener interview first that was very short (probably 20 minutes) and then an in person interview which was pretty long (about an hour). They then made me an offer a few days later

Interview
Phone interview and then in person interview. Phone interview had standard questions like "What are your weaknesses" or "Why do you want this job". In person interview was with the manager of the department and mostly was asking questions about my personality to make sure I would fit in with the rest of the team.
Went in on an open interview day, chatted with someone then revivied a phone call that I had gotten the job and then could choose the department I wanted to work in based on open postions
