Initial interview with a recruiter who briefly covered the basics, simply reciting what was listed on the posting. Then jumped straight to the salary expectations. The next interview was the panel interview in which salary was not discussed at all, but the panelists took turns asking the obligatory questions, i.e. describe a challenge and how you've overcome it. Panelists were engaged in the process and listened carefully to my responses. They were listening with intent to determine if I was a good fit. It was a remote interview in TEAMS but all of us were on camera.
