I spoke with a current advisor who was a referral from a friend about the company as a whole and what they enjoyed about their career and then was directed to speak with a recruiter to gain further knowledge. After an introductory call, we then scheduled another meeting to go into further detail about the position and if it would be a good fit for my ambitions and desires. After the initial discussions, I met with another employee who is a mentor to advisors in my area and again discussed my aspirations as well as the direction of the company. Along the way, I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with each employee and gaining an understanding of their different roles into the organization. Everyone was very easy to speak with and knowledgeable on all subjects, and made the interview process very pleasant. Although we ultimately decided that my career aspirations would take me elsewhere for the time being, all parties were very helpful and understanding and I appreciate the candid conversations we were able to have. WestPac Wealth isn't looking to sell you anything during their interview. Their genuine belief in their approach to wealth management was refreshing and at no point did I feel as though I was pressured to make a decision or do anything more than decide if it would be a good career transition for myself. If anyone is interested in wealth management and advising I would highly recommend reaching out to them. At the end of the day they want to make sure that you're a great fit for them and they can set you up for success which is what their main goal is. Although for now I am pursuing other options, if I ever decided to go into this industry they would by far be the first ones I will call.
