      Group Scheduling Coordinator Interview

      Feb 23, 2016

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Whitney Museum (New York, NY) in Sep 2015

      Interview

The contact was very responsive before the interview. When I arrived, the room that was scheduled for the interview was not available, which led us to walk around the offices to find open room. There were 2 interviewers - one was much more attentive than the other. They asked standard questions - talk a little bit about yourself; why are you interested in this job; etc. Then they asked hypothetical situation questions. These were extremely specific and semi-difficult to answer, unless the interviewee studied the rules before hand (which I did). I was most unhappy and disappointed by the unprofessionalism of the interviewers, their lack of connection abilities (especially for the visitor service sector), as well as their post-interview process. They did NOT ask if I had any questions at the end of the interview; they did NOT let me know I did not get the job, nor answered my follow up email. I felt this was completely unprofessional - and has left a bad taste in my mouth especially for such a prestigious company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

A teacher comes to The Whitney unannounced with a group of 15 high-school students. He did not make a reservation, does not have school ID, and the students do not have ID (to get in at a discounted rate). What do you do?
