I had a close friend that started working for WFM 6 months before I did and that was the main reason that I was able to get my foot in the door. We applied at the same time, but he knew more people at the store than I did. It was difficult getting an interview even despite the fact that I had an undergrad degree and was getting ready to finish a grad degree.
I remember the application being very long and detailed. My interview included one-on-one time with the team leader and assistant store team leader. There was only one day of interviews and I knew I had the job by the next day. The hardest part is just getting the interview.
I enjoy the culture of WFM, the people, the guests (customers), and what they stand for --> organic standards, non-gmo, no artificial anything (i.e. colors, preservatives, ingredients), no hydrogenated oils, and no high fructose corn syrup. WFM has great benefits, profit sharing, and discounts on store purchases (starting at 20% off).
