I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Whole Foods Market in Aug 2008
Interview
Applied online, straightforward and much faster application than other grocery stores (ie. no personality test). They e-mail as a follow-up and let you know whether or not you've been chosen for an interview. and they will explain if you aren't chosen (ie. needed more experience, not the right availability etc.). The 1st interview was a screening process but apparently this depends on how many people are being interviewed. It's a brief interview, typically with the HR person. They call if they want to schedule another interview, which is with a department manager, who will typically bring over a store manager after and re-interview you essentially, and s/he will ask you pretty much the same questions so be prepared to have two answers to every question so you're not repeating yourself.
Very simple, basic questions and received the job the next day. They asked me questions regarding company culture and my previous experience working with customer facing positions. I had two people interviewing me.
Very kind interviewer, short interview process with only one interview required. I was hired very quickly which was nice. I interviewer with the manager who was very welcoming and gave me the chance to ask any questions I had about the company as well.

Interview
Very short and straight to the point. Friendly people doing the interviews. Felt great and didn’t get nervous. They tell you the expectations on the spot to see if it’s actually something you’d like to continue with.
