      Inside Sales Representative Interview

      Aug 20, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at WillScot in Aug 2015

      Interview

Applied at beginning of July. At end of July, a recruiter started sending me daily interviews to reach out to someone to schedule. After several attempts, I was unable to get in touch. At this point it had been three weeks, so I moved on. At the beginning of August, they reached out to me and interviewed on the phone. The process was easy, and I was sent a link to do testing. I breezed through and after a few days I was contacted and informed that I would be moved to meeting with branch manager. After a week, I still had not heard from them so I contacted recruiter and informed another company was interested as well. In a few days, he called and we had an informal chat/telephone interview. I was told he would contact me for an in person in a day or so. I waited another week, meanwhile another company is letting me know training would be starting in a few weeks if hired. Mobile Mini paid more and had better hours, so I contacted recruiter and let her know the deal. I was rushed in for an in person interview on a Monday. I was told my next step would be with the regional, and that the job would start in a "couple of weeks". Another week went by, I put the other company off in an attempt to buy time, but still keep option open. Finally, I contacted recruiter again, and told them that an offer was pending, and a third was scheduled with another company. I got a call from what I would later learn was another branch manager, not a regional. Our interview went well, she gave me the "couple of weeks" line again and she asked for my references. ( solid, verifiable and from past employers/managers) I went to the lower paying job interview the next day content with the fact that an offer from MM was pending. As it turns out, that very next day I got the "we decided to go with a better candidate with better qualifications" letter on both. I understand about the low pay one, I was overqualified. MM I was very qualified, so I am just shaking my head. Perhaps they were just testing the waters, maybe it's just busy work. One never knows. What I do know is they wasted my time. As an experienced sales pro, that's something very valuable to me.

All pretty standard, run of the mill interview questions. Pretty informal.

      Interview

Everyone at Willscot was so friendly and understanding. I really enjoyed the communication and process I went through to get a position. I would have absolutely accepted the offer if there was an opening closer to my family.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at WillScot (Washington, DC) in Dec 2020

      Interview

Interview process was too long and drawn out a $17/hr position. Multiple index testing then weeks between then weeks till a scheduled interview. Several variations of the compensation package from the recruiter to the hiring manager- so ask a lot of questions. They want you to come into the office to work but only want to interview through zoom. Communication was poor throughout lots of red flags, thankfully I was offered another job with another company for double the pay.

      Interview

It was a cookie cutter sales interview, with predictable questions such as, "Describe a situation where you had to meet a deadline." Basically, you can google "sales interview" questions and you will get the interview I had. The hiring process was quick, which I appreciated.
