      Engagement Manager Interview

      Mar 11, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Workday in Feb 2018

      Interview

I snagged a phone screen interview with an HR person at Workday after submitting my resume through their referral process. She reached out to me via email to schedule a 30 min call. I was irritated that she was 15 minutes late to the interview, even though she apologized (not very authentically), and didn't even bother to extend it. We rushed through her questions and I could tell she hadn't reviewed my resume beforehand. To top everything off, she stated that I had no project management experience because it wasn't explicitly spelled out in the resume text itself. I tried to turn the interview around by circling back to her assumption. We also had an incredibly awkward exchange about salary (her quote was way too low). Typically, salary is mentioned down the interview process if an employer is actually excited about a candidate - her bringing it up suggested that she wanted to filter me out if I was too expensive. For other interviewees, I recommend reviewing the job description more closely and including keywords in your interview answers. Also, don't sell yourself short when discussing salaries here!
