Senior Associate, IFC AMC Cap Fund Interview

      Jun 8, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Lagos
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at World Bank Group (Lagos) in Aug 2012

      Interview

I saw the position from an alert on job postings on IFC's site. Applicants were to forward CV and cover letter to a designated email. After a month I received a mail that I've been short listed for phone interviews- 3 phone interviews. I'm based in Nigeria and the position will be based in Washington, DC. The interviewers are based in DC. I ended up having two phone interviews, each lasting over an hour. The 2nd interview was with two potential colleagues and the first was with the person being replaced. very good interaction from start to finish. Alot of the discussion was based on my CV and the relevant work experience. A lot of simulated questions, like how would you structure an investment in a bank? How would you value a bank. Why do you want to leave KPMG, as your exposure is very good, etc.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The question on how to structure an investment. My response was blurry and I thought I didn't sound like I was familiar with such tasks.
