      Content Manager Interview

      Mar 29, 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Kirkland, WA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Wyze Labs (Kirkland, WA) in Dec 2019

      Interview

This company moves extremely quickly through the interview process. A Wyze recruiter reached out to me several times on LinkedIn in mid-December 2019 to discuss opportunities. She was quick to respond to my reply, setting up a phone interview the same day I responded. I also had to provide a portfolio of clips, long and short-form content. Then a follow up phone interview the next day with several other directors in the company. Then the next day, I had a few more phone interviews with other people. After the last interview, I was contacted again by the recruiter to discuss their reactions, how I was feeling about the opportunities, and to set up an in-person interview. That interview included a presentation to the team. Days later, I was giving that presentation to ~10+ directors and managers at the company. I then had 4 more interviews in a panel-style, through and during lunchtime, followed by another 1:1 with the person who'd be my direct superior. It was rigorous, exhausting, but nearly everyone I met was personable and kind. The questions were structured similar to those you'd get in an Amazon on-site interview, with many STAR and behavioral questions. In under a week I went from newly hearing about this company to meeting every director, founder, and much of the team in person. I was there during a company event and got to get lunch with the team - I couldn't eat it while talking and presenting, but it was nice to get a minute to relax. I had recently prepared for another tough interview, memorized answers and all. Without that experience, I would've floundered.
