I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
I came onsite to interview for the Software Engineer role, and enjoyed speaking to them. They were happy to tell me about their tools, and they struck me as pretty open-minded / alternative culture (rivaling Google).
Towards the end of the day, they decided I was a better fit for Data Scientist, a.k.a. Decision Support Analyst. I had a very productive chat with one person at the end of the day... upon returning home, they scheduled two phone interviews. The first guy was easy enough to talk to. The second one was a very young VP, and it felt a bit awkward. A week later, after I wrote to the recruiter asking for an update, and they said I was rejected... I'm almost sure it was the young guy.
