I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at YipitData (New York, NY) in Aug 2019
Interview
Thorough, but fair. I made it to the third round of interviews. The first couple of rounds were the typical vetting of a candidate. The company is open to hiring individuals that haven't sold to analysts at a hedge fund, so the first couple of interviews they look to make sure that your previous sales experiences match their sales cycles/related needed expertise.
The next step in the interview is to pitch the product to a hypothetical analyst. If you're not familiar with finance, be prepared to do a fair amount of research to be able to put the product into context. With that said, the company isn't looking for someone that can regurgitate the product functions back to them or even someone that fights through objections to tell the client why they should buy the product. They are looking for a true consultative seller that takes their time to ask the right questions to figure out why/how an analyst needs their product. If you feel uncomfortable asking a question due to product knowledge or if it doesn't 100% feel natural to ask, ask anyway and then ask for forgiveness later if it was the wrong time ask or wrong thing to ask. Make sure to understand the strategy of the analyst fully before taking a deep dive into the Yipitdata product.

Phone screen followed by two 1 on 1 interviews with Manager and VP of Sales. After that a technical case study that lasts roughly 30 minutes to assess your comfort selling. Followed by superday Zoom interview with roughly 7 interviews. Thorough but fair process, everyone is sharp and asks good questions.

Question 1
Tell me about your former sales process?
What is your 5 year plan?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at YipitData (New York, NY) in Mar 2021
Interview
There are a few rounds in the process. It started with a phone interview followed by a role play session/case study which was a discovery call with a potential client. They give you all of the necessary information to prepare but it was a touch out of date so don’t be afraid to ask questions. After the role play round there was a super day of 4 -5 interviews with different teams.
