YipitData has a very well structured interview process.
The first step is a small assignment, and you have two days to finish it. The small assignment is not hard and will take one hour or so to finish.
Then you will be given a video record of information session. This is a great opportunity to get to know the company, its products, and the kind of work you will be doing.
As soon as you finish watching the info session, you move on to the next take-home assignment. You will have one week to finish the big assignment. The take-home assignment is more challenging than the small assignment, but it is really interesting! I really enjoyed the assignment. And expect several rounds of follow-up questions. The follow-up questions are really helpful for me to gain more insight, and adjust and improve my answers. The small and big assignments are designed to test your logical thinking, your approaches to solving a particular problem that is very similar to the ones you have in real job at Yipit, as well as your attention to details.
If you pass the take-home assignment, you will move onto the final interview. This is a great chance to meet the team, including the HR, VP, head of engineering, and research analyst. Everyone is super nice! The interview with the VP is a combination of technical and behavioral. Be prepared to talk about your take-home challenge during the VP interview. And the interviews with other team members are mostly behavioral. You get to ask a lot of questions too! I have learnt so much about YipitData, its work and its culture during my interviews. And I really enjoyed my interview process!
