      Writer Interview

      May 15, 2013
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ziosk (Dallas, TX) in Apr 2013

      Interview

Company appears to be more of a start up when you enter the offices. An entering employee had to ask me who I was there to see. Questions were pretty standard regarding writing ability and exposure to various trivia games. I was then asked to write out questions twice while the interviewer left the room, which I wasn't anticipating. Typically when requesting a skills test, the interviewer will inform the candidate prior to coming on-site.

      Question 1

I was asked personal questions about my personal life that are considered illegal to ask in an interview - if I was married, if I had children. I was shocked that someone would ask those questions during a first interview and thought it was either lacking education/training of the interviewer or that their human resources department hadn't trained management in proper, legal interviewing techniques and processes.
