Friendly, super focus on science. Nice environment. meet with various managers and future colleagues. Applied online and go was reached by the hiring manager. I had a about an hr long telephone interview with him, and two weeks later, I was invited to the comapny HQ and research facility.

Interview
Terrible, terrible, terrible. This is my second time trying out at Zymergen. My first time I was stood up by the recruiter 4 times and countless emails ignored, delayed 3 weeks. Interview was horrendous because the recruiter didn't understand any of the science for the role.
Applied for a different role in hopes to get a better experience and this time they used an reply bot to schedule interviews WEEKS in advance, but the new recruiter still blew me off. What is the point of scheduling if you're just going to skip out? We rescheduled for an early first-thing-in-the-morning interview so we wouldn't be interrupted by another meeting, and guess what? Got stood up again and I bet he's still snoozing. It amazes me how much the people here don't care, it's disgusting.
This is the absolute worst company I have ever applied to.
