I had a phone screening, followed by a Skype interview, followed by an interview at a recruiting event at their headquarters in Houston, TX. For the phone screening, which was around 9pm EST (which I thought was very late for an interview) the interviewer called about an hour early and asked if I could do it then. For the Skype interview, the interviewer seemed exceptionally bored with me and would not engage at all, so I thought I bombed it but later that day (around 10pm EST, so again, late) she called back and asked if I wanted to go to the recruiting event. At the recruiting event, you talked to a lot of employees and ate appetizers with a large group of other applicants (40+). The employees there were exclusively employees with less than 3 years of experience at alliantgroup (except one woman had 5) but I think that might been representative of the company. Every single person (about 15 or so) emphasized how hard they worked at every opportunity, but it wasn't because they had to, it's just because they are all so much more driven than other people. One guy did acknowledge that the reason they cater lunches is to keep people at their desks instead of leaving for lunch so they could work harder. They also emphasized they were never in the office past 6CST (even though I knew that wasn't true, because they have these recruiting events weekly and it was 8CST, and also all my interactions with them had been much later than that). After 3ish hours of socializing I got called into my actual interview with a director, and he was nice but at that point I was feeling like it wasn't a good fit for me. I didn't have any questions for him, because I had already talked to everyone else extensively. They called me back a week or two later but I missed the call, and they didn't answer or call me back. I got an email a week after that telling me they were not interested in continuing with my application.
