They set up a phone screen that literally lasted 5 minutes. I didn’t event get a chance to showcase myself. In my perspective, they weren’t interested from the start.

External recruiter called to ask if I would be interested in interviewing for a position--I had to push to get the title of it. Had to be next day bc HR didn't have enough people for Director to review and they were coming into town that week. She was emailing with HR as we spoke and said they felt my experience was a great fit. She also emphasized the hours expected, and kept asking if I had an issue with working long hours. Was parking for interview and got call from recruiter asking if I could do it later in the day bc HR person was pulled into a meeting last minute. So, 10 mins before it was rescheduled. Fine, no problem. Met with a very green HR person who did apologize (needs to learn to not over apologize). She didn't seem like she was in the mood to interview someone and asked pretty basic questions. She also didn't know a lot about the software used. It took about 30 minutes and she did her best to answer my questions. Told me she was meeting with Director next day so should hear something in a couple of days about meeting with Director for 2nd interview. I follow up with my recruiter who had heard back in the morning (and never contacted me) that they wanted to stay within the 2-3 years of experience. I had more than twice that many years experience. They wanted to be able to mold the person. Although the HR person told me it is a new position (and only one doing it), so would be able to define it as the first person doing it. I have a feeling I was older and more experienced than they wanted. It is a VERY young group of people. I was probably much more experienced than even the Director! They really want newbies to throw a lot of money at that will allow justifying what appears to be no life balance whatsoever. No one with 2-3 years experience should be paid what this position was paying! Also, the casual dress is SLOPPY!! But again, probably has to do with living at the office.
