Started with HR call for opening in Watertown, MA office then month later they decided my profile more suitable for Austin, TX office team and this to and fro kept going for a while. Hiring team wasn't sure about what they were looking for Frontend or Full stack . As I am Full stack developer preferred the same but frontend position wasn't any make or break deal but gives me extra advantage. At least that's how I thought. Got a interview dates, Interviewer was nice and calm. Interview was easy . An hour session started with general introduction than design questions related to current project I am working, in-depth technical aspects of What , How and Why we are using any technology or Architect design. We talk about innovation ideas, POC and Demo I have created with varies technologies of frontend, backend and AWS cloud. Later half there were specific questions related to ReactJs and JavaScript basics . Interview was Easy and most of the questions were asked were part of my day to day work. Result : Didn't get any communication for two weeks, So asked for feedback which I got 20 days later with an automated mailer below "After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision not to move forward with your candidacy for this role. While there was much positive feedback, we are looking for a candidate that more closely fits our needs. If you have applied to other positions, please note that this message is only in reference to this position.-- " Disappointed, considering I was assuming interview was smooth but at the same time I take that as learning. There must be something I need to improve and for that matter FEEDBACK is extremely important , Automated mailer doesn't say much about what need to be fixed and without knowing that how I can apply for other position knowing result could be the same !!! So I had send another email asking for little more detail on feedback but didn’t get any answers . Technically I have given all correct answers (considering all were simple). I might be wrong and overestimated myself but How one get to know that ? That called FEEDBACK process!! I didn't give automated interview so giving back automated feedback does reflect good taste. Suggestion: I believe there is an opportunity to improve in interview process and please consider feedback as an important activity and part of interview process.
