I applied online. I interviewed at bp (London, England)
Interview
After passing the online test and phone personality interview, BP paid for my travel for the face to face technical interview. I had two interviewers. It was very formal and professional. They asked about my geophysical experience at university and then tested my technical knowledge.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They gave me a printout of example seismic data and asked me to interpret the data at free will and identify processing steps applied to the data.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at bp (London, England) in May 2021
Interview
The interview process was long consisting of approximately 7 stages. First few stage were online tests and one way interview. Next was a technical interview that was about an hour. half was a chat about what I've done/learnt in geophysics and the other half was interpreting a seismic section. Final stage was assessment day that consisted of group challenges, written and interview challenge on bp's current projects
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at bp (Fairbanks, AK) in Oct 2014
Interview
The whole process took about 1 month. I applied online during my university recruitment and they called me for an interview in ~1 week.
The interviewers invited us for a meet and greet the night before the interviews. We had appetizers and were able to ask them any questions we had. This was helpful because I got to meet the people that would be interviewing me beforehand.
Pretty standard personality-based interview questions. Had to describe faults, beds, trap styles, regional setting, etc. in a seismic line at the end. That was a bit difficult, but they gave me a couple hints along the way.
I received a call about a month later offering me the position. They gave me a week to decide whether or not to take it.
