Engineer Interview Questions

Engineers are responsible for designing and building products. In an interview context, expect to be quizzed on your technical skills, and also evaluated for your ability to work as a part of a team to get things built. The specific questions you are asked will depend on what type of engineering position you are looking for such as a specific engineering discipline like software engineer, electrical engineer, or mechanical engineer.

Given: three clamped NMOS transistors in series with Vcc at the beginning. The output of the final one went into the source of a PFET, with the drain tied to ground and the gate tied to some voltage, I forget exactly what. I was asked to label the voltage at each node, and then which state the PFET was in.

1. MIMO Systems- explain the benefits of 2Tx/1RX vs 1Tx/2Rx 2. 10 wires with each having 2 ends are inside a bag. 2 ends can be connected to form 1 notch. The total number of possible notices are 1 to 10. Find the expected value of possible number of notches. Explain the process. 3. Given a PDF with an exponential distribution of lambda(e^-lambda x) explain how to find lambda given ten independent observation points. 4. given a complex system of -1 to +1 KHz, determine the Nyquist rate and what under what conditions will aliasing occur. If the bandwidth was triangular shaped, what will the resulting shape be when Fs is 2 KHz.
