Language Manager Interview Questions
36 language manager interview questions shared by candidates
Some questions were the usual behavioural questions (tell me about something you are proud of, have you ever had a conflict and how did you handle it, etc.), but mostly the questions were quite practical: translation tools (describe some QA checks you can run in a particular tool), process (how would you organize an end-to-end process for translating a new language), quality (how would you check the quality of a language you don't speak), collaboration (how would you collaborate cross-functionally).
The test had the following sections: 1. Translation tasks (UI on PC, UI on app) 2. Proofreading tasks (FAQs, Email, Blog) 3. LQA tasks (review LQA tester's comments) 4. Localization knowledge (theory questions: • How do you explain localization in one sentence? / What are the top 3 aspects to consider when localizing a piece of text? / Do you view language as something to be preserved or something that evolves with time? Please elaborate your answer with pros and cons. / What do you think of mixing 2 or different languages in a piece of text? Please explain your answer.) 5. Terminology extraction from a snipped of text (comment on whether terms were correctly selected).
No specific questions, just a basic intro call from a recruiter to see if I was interested in the job.
