This is a small company with a strong interest in State business. The toughest questions will be about your knowledge of State business and your knowledge of NYSTEC itself. It's all publicly available. If you are a private sector employee, expect to spend extra time learning online about the public sector.
1st and the 2nd rounds of interviews are tough. The most difficult questions were about DEP/ASLR. Knowing just the definition is not good enough, you should understand where these concepts are applied and where they can be exploited.

When there was (surprised) silence on my part at the low salary offered, (which I have learned they are expectant of and, have a rehearsed pitch ready for) I was told/asked is not cost of living (i.e. rent/food) one's highest expenditures? Well, could I argue with the low salary if I was assured it would cost almost nothing for rent or food? (Both basically company subsidized.)
