The discussion of the relationship between acquisitions and asset management was touchy. The point being that asset management inherits acquisitions made without their input. Once acquired, meeting the assets performances promised to the investment comitteee by the acquisitions people is sometimes unrealistic. Creating deal flow and making acquisitions clearly was the dominant function of the company.
