The next phone interview was with a manager in the organization that has the open position. This interviewer's accent was very thick, I work with people from all over the world with all kinds of accents and I had to have him repeat questions two or three times just to understand what the question was generally about - I was only picking up every other word - which makes a phone interview extremely difficult. I explained early in the interview that I had managed 40+ people in 5 different teams and some projects I did not technically work myself, but if he had a technical question I could go as deep as they wanted to go. He proceeded to ask me about a very specific project and immediately fixated on what the database synch-rates were as I walked through this project that I managed.
What was the overall interview experience like?
The tech rounds are good - if you practice leetcode sort of sites for few days, you will clear. But I felt the fitment round by India c o o was overboard, with most of the interview time his boasting about his experience and the company's financials. I was interviewing for India position. Definitely not what I expected from such a reputed company. That round itself was a deal-breaker for me from my side. If you wanna clear their behavioral rounds, in India, be cautious, and watch out their reactions, and work through. I felt they don't tolerate minor failures also at office.
