The most unexpected question that I got was why I had participated in various community service activities. Since this was a technical interview, I was expecting more technical than personality based questions.

Interviewer was demanding high level of detail about technical work that was done years ago. When the interviewer felt that sufficient details were not being disclosed, it appeared that they felt there was something that was being hidden. It should be noted that it is difficult, if not impossible, to provide extreme particulars about work that was done years ago.
