Trainee Software Engineer Interview Questions

6,022 trainee software engineer interview questions shared by candidates

The most interesting part was the technical interview round. This consisted of two rounds. Candidates clearing the first technical round were eligible to go to the next. In the first round, I was asked about basic OOPs concepts. The interviewer will check if you have actually understood the basics by writing a line of code and asking some questions pertaining to that. It does not matter if you don't figure out the answer in the first try (I was asked about run-time/compile-time errors in object creation involving inheritance). They give you ample amount of time to think. The interviewer was easy to talk to and the atmosphere was conducive to putting out your thoughts and discussing. But you need to reach the correct answer by the end of the interview. In the second round, I was asked questions such as constructors and abstract classes in java. Here also, the interviewer was patient and does quality selection of the candidates. I could not answer one of the questions. When I told that I didn't know the answer, the interviewer moved onto the next question. Then I was asked to write a program (on paper) to insert integers, delete an integer by its index, find the total number of integers (Implementation of ArrayList Collection of java). I wrote a python program using Linked List data structure. Then I was told to a little optimization of the code (It was very simple).
