Aqua America helps keep water clean and people quenched. It is a holding company for regulated utilities that provide water distribution and wastewater services to about 3 million US residents, as well as commercial and industrial customers. The company now operates in 12 states. After a swap of operations with American Water Works is completed in 2012, Aqua America's regulated utilities will spread across nine states, mainly along the East Coast and in the South.The company also owns a nonregulated wastewater utility in Georgia. Its operating subsidiaries manage the utilities.
