Description CVI Laser can't split hairs, but it can split beams. Doing business as CVI Melles Griot, the company's products include beamsplitters, laser mirrors, optical filters, optical lenses, prisms, and waveplates. Serving the aerospace, biotech, industrial, research, and semiconductor industries, CVI combines optics manufacturing with precision machining and mechanical design to produce a range of integrated opto-mechanical assemblies. Private equity firm Norwest Equity Partners sold CVI Laser to IDEX in 2011 for about $400 million.
