Mission Chobani’s mission is simple — to make good food for all. From day one, this purpose has guided everything we do — from using only natural ingredients in our products to supporting communities, championing inclusive workplaces, and standing up for what’s right. We believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious, high-quality food, and that business can be a force for good. Whether it’s through innovation in our products, investments in people, or partnerships that fight hunger and strengthen local communities. Our mission drives us to leave the world a little better than we found it.
Description In 2005, Chobani Founder & CEO, Hamdi Ulukaya, took out a loan from the Small Business Administration, purchased an old yogurt plant in upstate New York, and brought a small group of passionate individuals together to make the real, natural, and delicious yogurt he remembered from his childhood. He called the company “Chobani” which means “shepherd” in Turkish — to endow it with the hard-working and compassionate spirit of the mountain farmer.
For the next two years, Hamdi devoted himself to the craft, carefully building his team to ensure quality from the ground up. In 2007, his mission to make delicious, nutritious, natural, and accessible yogurt finally came to fruition, when the very first cup of Chobani® Greek Yogurt hit shelves.
Chobani disrupted the yogurt category by making Greek yogurt with only natural ingredients, driving home our founding mission — making good food for all — and by 2010, Chobani became America’s No.1 selling Greek yogurt brand.
Leveraging its innovation and brand-building capabilities Chobani created a portfolio of products including, oatmilk and dairy coffee creamers. Later with the acquisition of La Colombe into the Chobani family, the brand started selling ready-to-drink Draft Latte® drinks. Every Chobani product is made with the highest quality ingredients, free of artificial flavors, dyes, and preservatives.
As we continue on our journey to provide real, nutrient-dense food to all, Chobani also continues to put people at the heart of everything we do. We believe good food has the power to strengthen bodies, families, and communities—and as a modern food company, we see it as our responsibility to help address hunger in our communities and beyond.
At Chobani, we believe taking care of our people is the foundation of a strong, purpose-driven company. That’s why we offer competitive, thoughtfully designed benefits that support the health, financial security, and overall well-being of our employees and their families. From paid parental leave and comprehensive healthcare coverage to robust retirement plans, mental health resources, and wellness programs, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive — both at work and at home.

The story of Vital Farms begins back in 2007 on a 27 acre family farm in Austin, TX. Our founders were soon selling to Farmers’ Markets around Austin, and were quickly discovered by Whole Foods’ wonderful local foragers, who started selling the newly branded ‘Vital Farms’ Pasture-Raised Organic Eggs in 2008.
As we grew, we didn’t make our farm bigger. Instead, we found more like-minded farmers who put the welfare of the animals first. Today, over 350 small family farms commit to our exacting standards and the farming practices that we believe are best for the animals and the land, providing pasture-raised eggs and butter to folks nationwide.
Our purpose is rooted in a commitment to Conscious Capitalism, which prioritizes long-term benefits to each of our stakeholders. In 2016 we were recognized as a Certified B-Corp.
