Featherlite belongs in the aluminum trailer industry's Haul of Fame. The company offers a line of standard and specialty trailer models. Featherlite's trailers are used to haul horses, racecars, livestock, construction equipment, ATVs, and motorcycles. The company also makes custom specialty trailers used for vending, offices, kitchens, passenger trams, and classrooms. Fellow trailer maker Universal Trailer bought Featherlite for $29 million in cash and the assumption of $109 million in debt late in 2006. Featherlite branded trailers are sold throughout Canada and the US through a network of more than 200 dealers; it also has dealers in Australia and Europe.
