We buy as local as possible simply because it tastes better—end of story. We love great food, design + technology because that’s who we are. Steak ‘n Shake

Steak ‘n Shake was founded in February, 1934 in Normal, Illinois. Gus Belt, Steak ‘n Shake’s founder, pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milk shakes. For over 80 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word “steak” stood for STEAKBURGER. The term “shake” stood for hand-dipped MILK SHAKES. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. To prove his point that his burgers were exceptionally prime, he would wheel in a barrel of steaks (including round, sirloin, and T-bones) and grind the meat into burgers right in front of the guests. Hence arose the origin of our famous slogan, “In Sight It Must Be Right.” After 80 years, we are continuing Steak n Shake’s tradition of serving the country’s best, freshest, and tastiest burgers and shakes.

Portillo's is home to America's favorite Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, char-broiled burgers, salads, cheese fries, and homemade chocolate cake. Portillo's runs over 75 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Florida, California, Michigan, Texas and Arizona. In 1963, Dick Portillo invested $1,100 into a 6'x12' trailer to open the first Portillo's hot dog stand on North Avenue in Villa Park, IL, which he called "The Dog House."

Good Times Burgers

We believe that spirit and hunger for wanting something better plays no small role in the success we’ve enjoyed at Good Times since opening our first little burger place in Boulder, Colorado back in 1987. Our goal then, and now, was to make better fast food in every way possible. Using notably better ingredients. Served up hot (or cold, as the case may be with our much-loved frozen custard). And always crave-worthy and delicious. We must have gotten things right. Not long after opening that single location tucked in the shadow of the legendary flatirons in Boulder, we started sprouting a bunch of other Good Times locations throughout Colorado and Wyoming. We grew. Our reputation grew. But we tried to stay humble in the face of success. That’s a Colorado thing, too. Today, it’s become a badge of authentic Colorado-ness to know that your favorite burger place is local and real in every way. Hardly traditional. But most certainly a Colorado tradition.
