Mission At the Head Injury Association, our mission is to maximize potential among TBI survivors, and those with intellectual or physical disabilities, by providing the necessary residential and support programs to help them achieve four valued outcomes:

Individualization, Independence, Integration and Productivity.
Description The Head Injury Association was founded on Long Island by a group of parents who sought services for their children who suffered from a TBI. As a result of the lack of services for survivors in New York State, families were often forced to separate from their loved ones during a time of crisis. This hardship drove a group of dedicated parents to create the Head Injury Association on December 6, 1988.

Since its inception, the Head Injury Association has evolved significantly to meet the needs of TBI survivors of today.

In January 1993, The Hy Feinstein Clubhouse opened its doors to offer experiences and support to members by recognizing their skills and interests.
