“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” — Martin Luther King, Jr. This morning, OhioHealth came together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King and the National Day of Service. The internal event focused on service, inclusion and belonging and reflecting on how his words continue to inspire us today. “Service is more than what we do, it is who we are,” shared president and CEO, Stephen Markovich, MD. “It’s in how we treat our patients and each other.” The program reinforced the connection between Dr. King’s call to serve others and OhioHealth’s commitment to honoring the dignity and worth of each person. Through conversation and hands-on acts of service — including writing birthday cards and making blankets for youth in foster care — associates were reminded that lasting change often begins with simple, intentional actions....Show more
