Mission In furtherance of the System Mission, the mission of Temple University Hospital is to support Temple University and its Health Sciences Center academic programs by providing the clinical environment and service to support the highest quality teaching and training programs for health care students and professionals, and to support the highest quality research programs.
Description Temple University Health System (TUHS), a network of academic and community hospitals associated with the Temple University School of Medicine, provides primary, secondary, and tertiary care to residents in the Philadelphia County (Pennsylvania) area. TUHS' hospitals include 740-bed Temple University Hospital (a Level 1 trauma center) and two community-based hospitals providing acute and emergency care, the Jeanes Hospital and TUHS Episcopal Hospital (home to a 120-bed behavioral health unit). TUHS supports programs in pediatric and adult cardiology, organ transplantation, oncology, and pulmonary disease. Temple University Health System also includes a community-wide network of primary care physicians.
