Pros

- Average to above average pay for tech outside of SF/NY - Great benefits / health coverage for US - Everyone individually is pretty great and team autonomy is solid and a positive - Alignment on what we are building and why

Cons

- Culture shift slowly trying to become a Meta/Facebook culture is forced and ugly. Many ICs and EMs came from Meta or intentionally came here to avoid the toxic impact culture and requirement to self promote for any recognition and pay attention to internal Facebook/Workplace system. People complain that most of their mental overhead is now about being an internal influencer instead of just doing their jobs. - Too many disjointed communication strategies/platforms and lack of ELT standardization on setting expectations. Things pop up on a random Workplace post and all 1000 employees are expected to just know that there is a new deadline or expectation.

Innovative company, great coworkers, but low pay

Pros

Company is full of intelligent, kind, hardworking, and genuine people. I enjoy working with coworkers across the various teams. People are proud of the work they do and the supportive atmosphere means everyone wants to help everyone else succeed. Remote work and its flexibility is a huge pro, there's a lot of freedom to pursue projects that interest you and to work across teams, and the company works hard to develop a culture despite everyone being spread across the globe.

Cons

The compensation is low, below market rate for a number of jobs, and there's no clear process or understanding of raises, COL bumps, etc.. While the flexibility of remote is great and the new addition of benefits help, it's still not enough to make the salaries competitive with other companies in the tech space. You run the risk of losing good people as they leave for the sole reason of making more money. There is a lack of communication across the board, it can be difficult to know when things are changing, what's going on in other areas, and to keep track of important company news.

Pros

* Flexible working arrangements and quite a bit of autonomy. * A genuinely supportive manager and a collaborative, positive team environment. * Competitive pay for the role and responsibilities.

Cons

In recent years the company has shifted in a direction that feels very different from the organisation I originally joined. * There is a strong emphasis on a “high performance culture”, but there is limited structure or support in place to help employees develop the skills needed to meet those expectations. * Career progression and compensation increases can feel closely tied to visibility rather than the quality or impact of the work itself. * The company is moving away from its fully remote approach. In-person events that were once optional are now mandatory, even for teams that may not directly benefit from them. The locations chosen do not always appear to consider the needs or circumstances of a globally distributed workforce, and employees are now required to go through formal accommodation processes simply to avoid international travel due to health or safety concerns.
