Working at 5.11 Tactical has been a fantastic experience. The people here are truly the best part. They are smart, supportive, and down-to-earth. There’s a real sense of team, and everyone is willing to share knowledge and insights without any ego or gatekeeping. It makes onboarding and day-to-day collaboration smooth and enjoyable. You’re never left in the dark or afraid to ask questions. It’s a refreshing environment where transparency and teamwork are the norm.

Cons

It’s definitely a fast-paced environment, which can be a challenge at times, but it also keeps the work exciting and engaging. You’ll learn a lot quickly and never feel like you're stagnating.

There has been an endless cycle of "reorganization" layoffs with no communication from upper management. You only find out people are gone if you try to email them or book meetings. You find out it was a layoff by gossiping in the halls or calling people who work at the corporate office. For a company that talks a lot about how "we are a family" its a really bad look and is creating a lot of unease within the ranks. It feels like there is a mini layoff every quarter, but because there is no official communication, we don't know. Additionally, they are making really expensive mistakes and throwing good money after bad to try and correct. It is so hard to watch people get laid-off knowing that their salary was flushed down the toilet.
