Pros

Work life balance is good, some really smart people.

Cons

No internal training or development means managers who work their way up have strong operations skills but weak leadership / business skills and no talent development. ex: little to no experience with budget concepts, inability to use excel, create a business plan, or presentations. Promotions based on relationships rather then performance. Benefits are horrible. I pay more for medical insurance than my 4 friends combined. Pay is at the bottoms of industry average for experience and position..

Pros

Hours are definately there, be your own boss and work by yourself as long as you get the main cleaning and stocking tasks completed for your shift. Average pay, good benefits if you're full time. co workers are awesome to train with, very friendly and down to earth. Comfortable environment, no real stresses when you know what you're doing.

Cons

Lousy scheduling, especially for part time. Very inconsistant, hiring DURING store makeover from Exxon with new system while everyone stands around and argues over procedures and protocol. Communication from upper management is very lackluster and in dire need for improvement. They certainly dont seem very adamant or sincere with getting you trained and certified by any professional standard. No actual performance reviews of any sort, contrary to what is initially promised. No real direction from management is exsistant, so unless you are working with a seasoned employee, more often than not you will find yourself standing around clueless or having to improvise just to appear busy.

Pros

I worked a lot of shifts on my own, which was great during the day, but kind of awful at night. I was promoted quickly, getting trained to write orders and forecast.

Cons

Lots of busy work: Cleaning, stocking, organizing, writing orders and trying to run the register at the same time.
