Pros

New office building. Company is working toward allowing employees to work from home some since the new building is not big enough to house all of the current employees.

Cons

Management makes all kinds of promises and they never come to fruition. People have been in the same roles hoping to be promoted for many, many years.

Pros

1. Employees can take test and promote up with steady pay raises. 2. If employees are trained properly, they are promoted to managers and assistant managers. 3. Vacation time. 4. Training tools

Cons

1. Micro-managed 97% of time. 2. Left hand and right hand have no clue to what is going on. 3. Upper management blaims employees and managers for their mistakes. 4. Accounting department needs to be looked at closely. 5. Accounting of invoices on company level needs better supervision. 6. Inventory people need to be consistent. 7. Managers need to know sales numbers for each month, so to know what is expected. 8. Cameras in the backrooms and coolers, employee theft occurs there the most.

Merchandise Manager

Business Outlook

Pros

Merchandiser or Category Manager or Buyers dream. Full ownership of the product selection for your category. Monthly merchandise and marketing meetings to present new items and promotions going out to stores.

Cons

It is retail, folks. Everything at HQ is about supporting the stores in the field. Used to have mandatory week of working in a store for everyone at HQ, every year. HQ employees hated the prospect of being shot at store training and store employees hated HQ newbies coming into the store to be trained up all the time. Benefits for HQ employees were not competitive because they were same as benefits for store employees.
