Pros

Great people to work with. The owner is very generous when employees are in true need. I could never work for a company that cares as much for their people as the owners of 84 do.

Cons

Not a place for you if you don't like to work. It's not hard but it's work. You WILL be successful if you put forth the effort but that's up to the individual. Most people who don't like the company simply doesn't know what being a true entrepreneur is.

Pros

Almost all promotions come from within the company which creates tremendous advancement potential. Incentive based system rewards performance. Team atmosphere at store level and at headquarters. Good pay and excellent benefits. Strongest training program in the industry.

Cons

Some policies and technology fell behind the times for a few years (partially economy inflicted) but this has been steadily improving recently and continues to do so.

Pros

I worked for 84 throughout college as a yard associate and then Manager Trainee. The management that I worked for was probably the best team ever put together. They allowed me to work through my school schedule and after graduation offered me a full time position and within 5 months was promoted to management. Great people to work with. Compensation that is based on the effort and knowledge put forth.

Cons

Long hours required by almost all associates. Hourly rate is low but bonus compensation makes it worth it.
